Dear fellow condo owners,

It is actually with great pleasure that I am able to send you a message today that is just good news and fun and has no ‘housekeeping items’.

As most of you are aware, the pool upgrade project took a lot longer than the original 6 to 8 weeks estimated. About 10 days ago the Board made a ‘BIG gamble’ - we set the date for a pool opening party. We bet on yesterday, Friday, February 15, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Donna Swenson posted the invitation/notice in all buildings. As the date got closer, we ran into some obstacles. The pool fence inspection, anticipated for Monday, February 11, was delayed because of missing paperwork. Thankfully the missing documents were submitted quickly, and inspection took place on Thursday, February 14, in the morning. Once the ‘technical’ inspections of the Building Department were completed with the fence the last item outstanding, we still needed the Health Department to declare the pool and pool area in compliance and meeting all health and safety standards.

I had requested the Health Department inspection last week and was told that it would be done this week, probably already on Monday. Come Thursday afternoon, no one of the Health Department had shown up. Finally on Friday, the ‘Opening Day’, the inspector showed up at 10:00 a.m. and declared the pool okay and in compliance.

Jeanne and Joe, our Maintenance staff,  together with some residents started to clean the pool deck immediately after the inspector’s departure, moved all the furniture back into the pool area, and – wow, we won the bet!!

Attached are two pictures, one of Donna’s ‘Of-fishly’ invitation/notice, with the Fishly’s served at the party and one of the new pool area during the opening get together.

I want to thank everyone that helped to make yesterday’s party possible, especially Barbara and Donna for spending time and effort to decorate the tables, create the notice and baking cup cakes for everyone to enjoy.

Today the pool was busier than I have seen it in a long time, but it was not crowded and everyone had ‘their space’.

Thank you all for your patience with getting the project completed!!

Best regards,

Michael
